Helping Sections to Service Members SAMIEEE – Volunteer access to member data & demographics EWH – Web Hosting for over 1,280 units e-Notice - Electronic newsletter subscription service –762 units enrolled (Regions, Councils, Sections, Subsections, Chapters, Societies, Student Branches and Conferences) Enabling Member Communications Providing Member Relationship Management

Electronic Communications • IEEE E-Notice • An electronic newsletter subscription service that was created for IEEE organizational units to facilitate email distribution of newsletters and meeting and notices • List creation and maintenance is handled through the IEEE Operations Center. New members are automatically added and members can subscribe from list. Volunteers are not faced with bounces and managing the mailing lists • As of 14 January 2008, there are 950 registered for E-Notice from Sections, Councils, Regions, Chapters, Societies, Student Branches, Conferences, etc.

  5. E-notice Restrictions • Conferences must complete the IEEE Information Schedule and be posted on the IEEE Conference Search before e-Notice requests can be processed. Requests for conference e-mailings, such as Call for Papers and reminders, will be reviewed by IEEE Conference Business Services. If approved, e-Notices will be sent to members of the sponsoring IEEE OU of the conference. • Restrictions: Some IEEE Societies have requested restrictions on E-notices

Electronic Communications • Entity Web Hosting • As of January 14, 2008, the IEEE web hosting service currently hosts 1553 accounts that are used by Organizational Units, conferences and Staff. • Posting units are responsible for site content, its maintenance and its conformance to IEEE policy. • Organizational Units are expected to choose a single Webmaster who is skilled in managing web content. • This Webmaster will be the entity contact and the only one authorized to post content to the web site. The Webmaster will be expected to work with IEEE staff to insure that site security measures are effective.

  10. Electronic Communications • SAMIEEE • Provides automatic access for many volunteers based on current officer positions. Potentially over 5,000 volunteers have access to the member data • To date over 300 volunteers have been trained to use the web based tool via Internet Conferencing. Training is not required for gaining access • With the introduction of the IEEE Business Management System this past year, the tool has been changed to Siebel Analytics. • User documentation has been developed and On Demand training is available at: http://www.ieee.org/organizations/vols/samieee/OnDemand/index.html
