  2. What we do • Make practice fun • Make all drill relevant to the game • Make drills competitive • Do you have a winner and loser in the drill? • Not real for ALL drills…

  3. What we do • Film as many parts of practice as possible • Kids love to see themselves on film • Start practice with meeting time and walkthrough • Short lines and short time periods

  4. What we do • Teach skills more than schemes • Teach it right the first time • All conditioning done within the course of practice

  5. What we don’t do • Practice for more than 120 minutes • Condition at the end or start of practice • Yell just to yell…we teach

  6. What we don’t do • Waste time on long warm-ups or long post game discussions • Run a lot of different plays • Confidence comes from knowing your assignment • Scrimmage / Team Periods for long periods of time

  7. Coaches’ Guidelines • Always be yourself • Practice and coach at a fast pace • Have fun…there is no substitute for enthusiasm • “If you ignore it…you accept it”

  9. PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY • 2 PLATOON PHILOSOPHY • Of 70 players…4-6 learn 2 positions • LEARN IN THE CLASSROOM / MEETING…REPITITION ON THE FIELD • PRACTICE AT A FAST PACE…FILM AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
