Tv log analysis

  • On Slide 12, we have the numbers and percentages on what our survey said on what a majority of the 15-18 year olds in this class are watching.

47% of the people watch Family Guy who took the survey on a daily basis. That was the highest ranked TV show in the data. That 70’s Show was second ranked with 21% who watches it on a daily basis. In all the survey tells you that there are three shows that are watched the most on a daily basis. Some shows only come on once a week with a new show but others are on all the time. There either repeats or new episodes. We know that the boys mostly watch Family Guy, That 70’s Show, ESPN, Two and A Half Men, and Heroes because when looking at the data in the survey the boys are mostly the ones who have these shows as shows that they watch on a daily basis. For the girl shows if you look at the data you will see that Army Wives, One Tree Hill, The Hills, The Entourage, The Secret Life of an American Teenager and Sex in The City are mostly watched by girls because they have those shows as there favorite shows and most watched.

Army wives, One Tree Hill, The Secret Life of an American Teenager, and the Hills are watched on a weekly basis because each day they come on there are new episodes.

Family Guy, That 70’s Show, Two and a Half Men, and ESPN are watched on a daily basis. Heroes is on a weekly basis.

Quotes and reviews

Quotes and reviews

Family Guy Review:

Parents need to know that this series is very funny; the quirky, scenarios can induce giggles or even guffaws in grown-ups. But this show isn't meant to be watched by kids or young teens. Unpredictable is the name of the game in the town of Quahog, Rhode Island, where the Griffin family spends most of its time watching television and getting into trouble. The dog, Brian, and the infant, Stewie, are the most intelligent members of the family -- which might ring some bells in terms of inappropriate role modeling right away.

  • I hate family guy because it’s stupid and not really funny- Katie Sassak

  • That 70’s Show Review

  • That 70’s Show is one of the better new sitcoms on TV, yet it took me more then half a year to tune in– and all because of the stupid name. To me, the show sounded like a half hour advertisement for bellbottoms and butt rocks, not something I needed to see,, after 4 years of college social events, too many of which were “70’s Nights”. The truth is, “That 70’s Show” is as much about the seventies as Family Ties was about the eighties- which is to say, a lot- but in ways that are more subtle and clever than its title would lead you to expect. – by Fred Kovey

  • That 70s show, it was the only show that could make me laugh out loud even when I was by myself- Joe Schulte

  • King of Queens Review:

  • The King of Queens is funny, extremely sarcastic, and still fresh, but not appropriate for children. Older kids interested in a family comedy might like a more traditional format like According To Jim and Everybody Loves Raymond.

King of Queens is my all time favorite because Kevin James (Doug Heffernan) is hilarious and not to mention his wife Carrie is hot.- Michael Connolly
