  2. Introduction Ponce de Leon explored the land because he was commanded and wanted to find land, gold, and the Fountain of Youth.

  3. Purpose of Slide Show The slide show is to teach you about Juan Ponce de Leon’s early and late life, his routes he took, his sponsoring countries, and his conflict with the Native Americans.

  4. Settlement Struggles or Accomplishments in the New Land Ponce de Leon failed to conquer Bimini. His men had to battle warrior Indians. Ponce de Leon died of a wound shot by the warrior Indians in July 1521.

  5. What Country Sponsored Ponce De Leon The sponsoring country that supported Juan Ponce de Leon on his voyage was Spain. Ponce de Leon had to abandon Florida to save the life of his men and himself. He gave up on looking for the Fountain of Youth. The Fountain of Youth is a magical fountain that people believe can give life for eternity!

  6. Map of Ponce de Leon’s Expedition (1) Ponce de Leon sailed from Puerto Rico on March 3, 1513. On his way he stopped at Grand Turk Island first then San Salvador. Ponce de Leon reached east cost of current day Florida on April 1513. Ponce de Leon had no trouble getting to his destination.

  7. Voyage (1) Juan Ponce de Leon sailed from Puerto Rico on march 3, 1513. Juan Ponce de Leon lead his expedition to the Island called Bimini. He sailed to Spain to claim Florida territories.

  8. Early Life of Ponce de Leon Juan Ponce de Leon was born 1460 in September. He died in 1521 in September. The way how he died was two poisonous arrows shot him in Bimini.

  9. Later Life of Ponce de Leon In February 1521, Ponce de Leon sailed from Puerto Rico with two ships carrying as many as 200 settlers and supplies to establish a colony.

  10. Interesting Facts A road in downtown. Atlanta was named after Ponce de Leon intersecting the road called Jupiter. There is a bay called San Juan Bay that is named after Juan Ponce de Leon.

  11. Conclusion Juan Ponce de Leon was a person who knows he will find the treasures . As he did his journey, he found gold and the Fountain of Youth. He used the lifeskill of courage to go to face to face with the Indians.
