  2. For filing the trademark application there are various pre-requisites that a Canadian trademark agency shouldtell to their clients. There are various rules and norms related to the points to be disclosed in the filing, fees to be paid and so on. While the agencies have difference of fees that they charge for assistance, the basic government fees to file a trademark application in Canada is $450 in total. Here are a few details on the CanadianTrademark Agency and its role in Filing for Trademark.

  3. Application and registration fee • The applicant needs to pay $250 for filing the application and also he should be aware that there are no classes in the Canadian trademark practice. This is one of the reasons why fee always sticks to $250. Later the client will have to pay $200 once registered. The agencies assist you in many ways and make registration process faster and simpler. You should be aware of the information needed to be filled and Patent agents provide you such information. According to trademark agency you should give following information in the filing.

  4. Information needed • There should be a full and legal name of the applicant who wants to file the trademark application. Then Trademark agent ask you to provide your full address, principal office or place of business. After providing these two information, you will be required by the trademark agency to write about the trademark, whether it is a design or a mark and so on and it is preferred that you give this information in electronic format. Next information that you will be required to give will be about the products for which you want to use the trademark. You can attach the list of the products if there are many. In case of services, the patent agent will suggest you to provide the list of services or a service that you want to offer and intending to use trademark for the same.

  5. Assistance of the agents • Trademark agents tell you that you should give the information if the design, logo or anything you are intending to use a trademark has been used in Canada to your knowledge. If it has been used then you will need to provide the date when it was used first. Also even if the trademark has been used in any other country or anywhere else other than Canada then the authority will ask for details of the application/registration including the country where it is filed. Also, if the trademark application filed outside Canada is pending then details such as date of filing, the number of the application, registration details of the trademark if any outside Canada, date of registration and registration number is needed. These information could be easily collected and handled by a trademark agency with their expertise and experience in the field which is why instead of pondering for the information, hiring an agency is always better.
