  2. Maja Włoszczowska Maja Martyna Włoszczowska, born November 9, 1983 in Warsaw, is a Polish mountain biker. She is a vice-Olympian in Beijing, gold medalist of world championships in the elite race in the marathon MTB, multiple vice-champion of Europe and the multiple champion of the Polish cross-country. Włoszczowska graduated from the Wroclaw Technical University at the Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology. She studied applied mathematics there. On October 8, 2008 she was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit for achievements in sport by the Polish President.

  3. Early Career She began her career in a small cycling club - White Karpacz in 1997. In 1999 she won the Polish junior champion in mountain biking for PTS Piechowice CCC. In 2000 she moved to the national team where her coach was Andrew Friday. Then she won a silver medal at the world championships in Sierra Nevada. In 2002, Włoszczowska rode in the team for CCC Polsat, but without much success. Since 2003 she was racing for the Professional Cycling LOTTO Group. In 2004 she participated in the Olympic Games in Athens and took the 6th place there. In the years 2007 - 2008 she was racing for MTB Team Halls. After the breakup of the group, in 2009 she signed a four-year contract with CCC, a sponsor of the professional cycling team CCC Polkowice.

  4. Key Achievements Olympic Games - the oldest and also the largest international sports event held every four years in different countries. Competitions were held in Beijing Route Laoshan Cycling Race MTB (mountain bike). Maja won the silver medal there.

  5. Gold Medals World Cup MTB Marathon has been played for the first time in Lugano, Switzerland in 2003 with the world championships in mountain biking. Since 2004, the championship is a separate event. The first winner was Maja Włoszczowska World Championships in mountain biking in 2010 was held in Mont Sainte-Anne (Canada) from August 31 - September 5, 2010 - Maja Włoszczowska won the gold.

The advantages of mountain biking, and its versatility makes it a desirable mean of transport during the escapades and excursions of the mountainous terrain.
