  3. Great Depression • Unemployment rate was at about 25% • 9,096 Banks went out of business – 50% • Payment rate went down about 25% • Ex. Current Pay $12 • Great Depression Pay $9 • What did the states do? • Raised Taxes during the Great Depression and cut spending amounts

  4. Great Depression • Economic Decline -26.5% • Immigration Rate mainly came from Asia, Mexico, and Europe • Increase in Money Supply - about 17% • People that were successful were the radio, automobiles, and electrical companies

  5. Great Recession • Unemployment Rate was about - 8.5% • 57 Banks were/are out of business - 0.6%
