Map of Poland Map with Key • Poland is in Europe. • The border stretches 277 miles and 446 Kilometers along the Baltic sea • Poland is in north/ central Europe • The Baltic sea lies north of Poland. Germany is west from Poland. North east of Poland is Russia. East of Poland is Belarus. South east of Poland is Ukraine. South of Poland is Slovakia. South west of Poland is Czech Republic

  4. Government • Under communism Poland came highly industrialized country. Mining steelworks, and machinery. Production’s are still the mayor's industrial • Poland has a president who is elected for a five year term. The president serves mainly as a representative for Poland both at home and around the world. The president is also in charge of the army. Other wise it’s the prime minister who leads the day to day fair. the prime minister who usually the leader of the majority party in parliament is appointed by the president. Like the united states Poland legislator has two parts an upper house and a lower house. Poland is divided in to provinces the voting age is 18 voting is always held on Sunday.

  5. History/Culture • Poland world war 2 began on Sep 1 1939 and ended on Sep 2 1945. It begin in Europe and it spread out to the world including Africa, Asia, Australia ,and the Pacific Ocean. • Poland first civilation dates back to about 2000 BC but it wasn’t till 1966 that the regions became united under the Slavic chief Miesko first prince of Polska. Religon is a very important part of Polish life. Almost all of the population at least 90 percent is Roman catholic . Cardinal Karol woujtyla archbishop became the first ever Polish pope

  7. Flag • The Polish flag has a white stripe on the top and red on the bottom. • The white stripe stands for freedom. And the red stripe stands for the blood of many people who died just to protect Poland for freedom • Red and white became the official color for Poland’s flag in 1919. • The eagle has been Poland emblem for more than 700 year’s. • Some national flag’s have their emblem on them

In 2003 in Poland 95% of people were Roman catholic and 5% were Easter orthodox protestants of other religions During world war two over 6 million Poles died Zloty is the name of Poland money The most important cites are gdansk and Krakow Jhon Paul was the formal pope or leader of the Roman Catholic church The leader of the state is the president Poland will become a member of Europe Union in 2004. The EU is a western group European nations that were together on issues of money science and politics. Queen Jadwiga the queen of Poland in 1300 and later became a saint. Marie Curie noble prize wining sientist.
