Growing spiritually: process • 2 Peter 1:5-8 – But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faithvirtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherlykindness, & to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours & abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  3. Growing spiritually: process • Peter said “grow” (2 Pet 3:18). • Peter said “add” (supply, 2 Pet 1:5). • Peter said “withalldiligence” (1:5, 10). • Peter said “abound” (1:8).

Growing spiritually: process • “Faith” – conviction, strong assurance • “Virtue” – moral excellence, goodness • “Knowledge” – correct insight • “Self-control”– self-discipline • “Perseverance”– bearing up under trials • “Godliness”– a nature devoted to God • “Brotherly kindness”– love of brethren • “Love”– active goodwill toward others
