Teachers, Please find attached a Lesson PPT based on THE APPRENTICE it's a new twist on a classic TEFL lesson plan, which looks something like this: --ADVERTISING & PRODUCTS-- Level: intermediate, ( ≥ grade 8ish (+/- outlier clusters) Time: 50-60 minutes (trim it down if need be, or divide into two lessons) Objective: content specific vocab: Advertisements, products, companies (ch. 12 in my kids case, although it's NEARLY stand-alone) Note: the stuff in bold was the extra pepper i threw in. if you want the apprentice clip, and/or the Youtube advertisements i downloaded, let me know or come to Chinese class with a USB drive -->

  2. Warm-up: Topic intro--> free talk: generate interest with pictures or a story • Video: 3 minute intro clip of THE APPRENTICE (season 3) • Rapid Baseline Vocal Question Quiz • Define: (or review) vocab pertaining to products and advertisements (drill n kills, jazz chants, worksheets and /or, dictionary hunt, etc ) • Model target language in context with scripted dialogue, class-read--> partners • practice: target vocab in context, question or context prompts, basic RPG • Group work: Create companies and design products scaffolding off of review content (Brain storming) • Present: present product prototypes to the class. you could have the opposing companies critique/comment on the products • Advertisements: rinse and repeat above intro + practice model • Watch sample English advertisement videos w/ listening Q's or feedback to check comprehension • (HW) Design: their own RADIO advertisement for their product/company. (deliverable: English Script, not silly sketches) → let's roll
