  1. ECU Schools Internet 2017 • The European Chess Union and Educational Committee of ECU are inviting all National Chess Federations of the ECU to the First ECU School Team Internet Championships • Winner teams in each age category will be invited to European School Chess Championship in 2018, hotel and meals provided. • Entry fee: €100 per team • Format: Online team tournament • When:Nov. 16 (U11) and Nov 23, 2017 (U17) • Age groups: U11 (under 11) and U17 (under 17) • Team limits: one team of each age group per ECU National Chess Federation • Team composition: 4 players (2 boys, 2 girls) from the same school

Qualifying Rounds • National Chess Federations are free to field any team by preference • However, we recommend running Qualifying Rounds to find the best team for the main event • The Organizing Committee will provide, for FREE: • Chess King Playing Zone platform • Tournament Regulations document for your Qualifying Rounds • Processing entry notes by teams • Tournament creation and refereeing • Server maintenance • Technical support for participants

Chess King Playing Zone • Chess King Playing Zone is also the platform that will be used for the main tournament • Interface in 10 languages; supports PC, MAC, Android and iOS • Supports all kinds of individual and team tournaments and matching systems • FREE game servers maintenance and support during the Qualifying Rounds • FREE organizational support with creating and refereeing the Qualifying Rounds • Chess Federations may set their own entry fees or other terms for participants

  4. 3 Steps to Run Qualifying Rounds • Apply for Qualifying Rounds to chesskingweb@gmail.com • Download and modify the Qualifying Tournament Regulations template to fit your needs, or tell us your preferences and we will do it for you • Notify schools in your region and send them the Regulations The Organizing Committee will process all entry application, create teams and user accounts, remind the teams about the date and solve any issues along the way.

  5. Requirements • Schools will need to provide their teams with supervised classrooms • The classrooms must be equipped with computers; alternatively, players may use portable devices to play • All devices used to play in the tournament must have Internet access (at least 1 MBit/s) • During the main event, representatives of the Organizing Committee must be allowed access to the classrooms on request
