  1. Video Wall New Calibration Guide (Rev 3.1) Added Functions of New SuperSign Elite-C - Calibration without Creating Gamma Table - Brightness tuning

  2. Preparation for white calibration 1. Video Wall F/W and SuperSign Elite-C S/W version • It should be same or over than the above version. • SuperSign Elite-C New function - Calibration without “Create Gamma Table” to reduce processing time - Brightness could be tuned. 2. Video Wall Setting Video Wall Installation Example Calibration sensor (Spyder4) IR receiver SuperSign Elite-c : RS-232C connection (out→in) RS232C or LAN • IR receiver is needed for manual calibration • F/W update and ‘Total set ID, Set ID’ setting must be done before installation. • Before calibration, it is necessary to turn on the monitor with playing contents for at least 1 hour. (Recommendation : 2 hours) 1 / 7

  3. White Balance Calibration 3. Flow Chart of Calibration START • Recommendation options • Duplication function is not recommended. Measure 1st step Auto Calibration (SuperSign Elite-C) You can check the brightness and color temperature. Auto calibration 1st step could be skipped. Measure To check auto calibration result Check White Balance • The 2nd step is strongly recommended. 2nd step Manual Calibration • Manual calibration is necessary to adjust • white balance more correctly. Manual calibration • Refer to Appendix END 2 / 7

  4. Appendix 1 : Manual calibration guide Warning! (Very Important!) 1. If the set the gain value to 192 or higher, some color may not be rendered properly. Because the max gain value is 192. 2. Recommend changing gain value under 3 steps per each color, if you want to change. 1. Two ways of manual calibration B. Manual adjust with remote controller A. Manual adjust with SuperSign Elite-C Press the [MENU] button for more than five seconds. The input data is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. Press the [ 0 ] button four times. Press the [OK] button. 3 / 7

  5. Appendix 1 : Manual calibration guide 2. Recommendation test pattern (in case of 3x3) The test pattern needs to be moved and scaled up and down for comparing “White color” between 2x2 signage video wall displays. Check point: White and gray color Check! Check! Check! 1st Step Check! 2nd Step 4 / 7

  7. Appendix 2 : Troubleshooting Auto calibration is failed. Problem Resolution Is the F/W the latest version? Update both SOC(Flash) and Micom to the latest version. Is there fail icon or the result is NG? Check “Create Gamma Table” and calibrate again, if you disable “Create Gamma Table”. There is color mismatching after calibration. Problem Resolution Is there any abnormal working at SSEC or monitor? (e.g : R/G/B gains are over 192 after auto calibration or SSEC is hang-up or terminated abnormally and so on.) Check “Create Gamma Table” and calibrate again. If the result is same, please calibrate manually. Note) If you set color temperature as over 11000, “Create Gamma Table” should be checked for stable working. Is the white color different between video wall screens? Two more screens may have individual color and brightness uniformity, this lack of uniformity could make them to look different. So proceed the manual calibration to adjust white balance more correctly. There could be problem when you use Duplication function because of the uniformity of panel. If you used Duplication function to reduce processing time, we’d like to recommend doing calibration without “Create Gamma Table”. Did you use Duplication function? 6 / 7

  8. Appendix 3 : Video Wall Setting Guide 1. SOC(Flash) update on the first 2. Micom update - Press “RED” button when Micom update. <Figure. 1> 3. F/W version check. <Figure. 2> 4. Factory reset <Figure. 1> 5. Setting of “Total set ID”, “set ID” before installation Press [MENU] Press [ < ] button so that cursor is placed the option icon Press [ 1 ] button 5 times. Go to [OPTION] It is possible to check F/W version in this Diagnostics screen. <Figure. 2> 7 / 7
