  2. ALBALAT DELS SORELLS VALENCIA Albalat dels Sorells and Valencia, are situated on the east coast of Spain by the Mediterranean sea.

  3. ALBALAT DELS SORELLS • Our town has 3500 inhabitants. It’s very close to Valencia city, only 9 km and we are conected with the city centre by metro.

  5. THE MOST IMPORTANT MONUMENT IS THE 15TH CENTURY CASTLE.

  12. FESTIVALS • Fallas are our most important festival. • During 4 days, we put on the streets big monuments made by papier-machê. • We burn them on the 19th of March at midnight.

  14. STUDENTS AND CLASSES AS YOU CAN SEE, IN OUR SCHOOL THERE ARE 2 GROUPS FOR EACH CLASS: GROUP A AND GROUP B. IN OUR AREA WE HAVE TWO OFICIAL LANGUAGES: SPANISH AND VALENCIANO, AND FAMILIES CAN CHOOSE IN WHICH MOTHER TONGUE THEY WANT THEIR CHILDREN STUDY AT SCHOOL. IF YOU CHOOSE GROUP A, CHILDREN USE VALENCIANO AS MOTHER TONGUE AND IF YOU CHOOSE GROUP B, THEY USE SPANISH AS MOTHER TONGUE. BUT YOU MUST LEARN BOTH.

  18. PLAYING AND HAVING LUNCH From 11:00 to 11:30 we have a break and we go to the playground 230 children stay at the school for having lunch, the rest go home and then come back to school at 15:00. We go home at 16:30

  19. HOW DO WE CELEBRATE SPECIAL DAYS IN OUR SCHOOL?OCTOBER THE 9TH: AUTONOMOUS REGION’S DAY We dance and sing typical valencian songs and dances

  22. CARNIVAL: We love dressing up

  23. FALLAS • We adapted the Fallas at school making our own monuments. • In 2008 we dedicated it to the ecology because in our school we are very worry about the nature and we like recycling.
