  2. WHO WE ARE Mexico Medical Missionsis a 501(c)3 taxexemptorganizationestablished in 1988. Weoperate HOSPITAL MISIÓN TARAHUMARA, a full service 25 bed hospital located in theheart of the Sierra Madre Mountains of northernMexico.

  3. M I SS I O N OUR MISSION Mexico Medical Missions strives to provide an excellent level of integrated healthcare to the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre Mountains of Northern Mexico, thereby proclaiming the transforming love of Jesus Christ

  4. V I S I O N • To bringanintegratedhealthprogram to communitiesthathaveneverhadaccess to it, and to prepare indigenousleaders in thearea of health and communitydevelopment to meettheirhealthneeds in theirowncommunities.

  5. OUR HOPE To improvethelives of theindigenouspeoplethatinhabitthe Sierra Tarahumara throughhealthcare, nutrition, and communitydevelopmentservices.

  6. ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Currentlyhaveover 20,000 patientcharts • Havedrilled19 wellsin 13 communities to providedrinkingwater to theindigenouscommunities • Recievepatientsfrom 180 indigenouscommunities • Opened a Birthing Center onMarch8th, 2012 through a grant of theMexican Dr. Simi’sFoundation BIRTHING CENTER INAUGURATION

ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Dr. Mike Berkeley, President of theorganizationearned1st place as Humanitarian of theYear, atbothstate and nationallevels, givenbythe Dr. Simi Foundation. • Withthesupport of variousprivate and governmentorganizationsfromMexico and the US, we’vebeenable to providefood to needy and remotecommunitiesthroughouttheregion in response to theseveredrought and subsequentcropfailure of 2011.

  8. ACCOMPLISHMENTS • According to reportsfromtheMexicanHealthDepartmentthe Hospital has contributed to thedecrease of Maternal and InfantMortalityRates

  16. FAMINE RELIEF - FOOD DISTRIBUTION • The Tarahumara had a disasterousharvest in thefall of 2011 as a result of thedroughtthatafflictedthestate of Chihuahua. Throughout 2012 wewereable to distribute 40 tons of beans, corn and otherfoodstuffs to variouscommunities in the Sierra Tarahumara. • We are thankful to bothprivate and governmentsources in theUnitedStates and Mexicowhoprovidedfundingforthislife-savingeffort. • Wecontinue to workintensivelywithfourindigenouscommunitespromotingbetteragriculturalpracticeswiththegoal of preventingcropfailures in thefuture.
