NIH Continuing resolution & FY13 Funding • Signed 9/28/12 and extends through 3/27/2013 • FY13 non-competing awards to be issued without cost of living/inflationary adjustments • Continue to budget, with escalation, in accordance with UCI policy • Salary Limits: applies Exec Level II http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-13-002.html
NIH rppr to replace esnap • Option available now to use the new RPPR reporting module instead of eSNAP. • Use is expected to be mandated in Spring 2013.
NIH public access policy changes • Requires PIs to submit journal manuscripts that arise from NIH funds to PubMed Central upon acceptance for publication. Must be in PubMed no later than 12 months after publication. • Upcoming Process Change:With this Notice, NIH informs grantees that in Spring, 2013, at the earliest, NIH will delay processing of non-competing continuation grant awards if publications arising from that award are not in compliance with the NIH public access policy.
NSFResearch.gov Pilot • New reporting module will be for the submission of annual, final, and interim project reports for all current NSF awards • Research.gov will replace Fastlane for project reporting only • For proposals, file updates, post-award actions, we will continue using Fastlane in the mean time • NSF will adjust report due dates so PIs are in compliance with the award terms/conditions. (Adjusted due dates will be posted Dec 3.) • Until Dec 2, no new reports are to be submitted to NSF. On Dec 3, reports must be prepared/submitted in Research.gov
