Workshop 1 (Lisbon Convention) • Design promotional activites whose goal it is to inform academic staff about the importance of mobility; take into consideration the specific information needs of your country • Put pressure on your government to implement the legal documents they have signed and to provide some kind of incentive (e.g. funds, additional staff etc.) • Workshop 2 (Vertical Mobility) General • Recognition should be based on learning outcomes rather than on duration of a programme • Little enthusiasm of students to move elsewhere for their masters • (Conceptual) problem: recognition – equivalence – selection criteria

Workshop 2 (Vertical Mobility) Recommended to-dos for different actors along the vertical mobility sequence Higher education institutions Make use of all transparency instruments Provide transparent and reliable information on time, i.e. one semester in advance, e.g. ECTS course catalogue available on website Provide an encompassing institutional internationalisation policy (strategic decision!) Professionalise recognition process Provide a clear list of requirements for: Applications Documents Language requirements Academic admission Time frames

Recognition bodies Transparent and legally well grounded decisions Info on procedure and duration Composition of recognition body should foster transparency, e.g. feature students A fair process with the students in mind National decision makers Ombudsperson for recognition, neutral person to complain Clear rules for recognition Including limits within general frameworks Bologna experts Link existing instruments at disposal Ask institutions to adopt perspective of foreign student Support professionalisation of recognition Standard procedures Towards objective criteria Spread essential function and role of LRC

Workshop 3 (ECTS/DS Label) General Promote the ECTS/DS labels based on the 2011 application forms (end Sept. 2010) ECTS Label Promote of ECTS Users’ Guide Stress the link with LOs: promotion of the ECTS credit allocation which MUST be based on the student workload needed in order to achieve expected LOs DS Promote the DS DS Label Promote the DS explanatory notes as featured in Annex 2 of the application forms
