  2. Overview: • Course Selection will be done on line using myBlueprint. • You will not receive a paper option sheet to select your courses. • All payment should be done through School Cash On Line (attach receipt to course selection printout).

  3. www.werbr.ca On our website, under the Student Services tab, you will find: • Course Selection Instructions for Students and Parents 2017-2018 • A Course Catalog (courses and descriptions) • This power point outlining the process for Course Selection for Grade 10 students. On the BR main page, you will find instructions regarding payment via School Cash Online.

  4. Having trouble with myBlueprint? • You will not be able to submit your Course Selections without myBlueprint, so make sure you can log on! • Forgot your Password? Click on the “forgot password” link. • Can’t remember your email? Speak to your guidance counsellor, or contact myBlueprint directly. • Contact details are on their homepage.

  5. Compulsory Grade 11 Courses! Academic planner

  6. Types of Courses The 4th character of a course code denotes the year in which the course is offered. The 5th character of the course code denotes the level of the course.

  7. Summer School (July) • 4 week courses are offered: • For repeating a failed course (less than 50%) • For earning a reach ahead course • Registration forms will be available in Student Services in April/May • If you plan on taking a compulsory course in summer school, you must still select it in myBlueprint. Once you are registered for summer school (April), see your guidance counsellor to have it removed and another course added to your planner.

  8. E-Learning during the school year: If you plan on selecting an e-learning course, you will need to register on line with your guidance counsellor. Select e-learning on myBlueprint, then see your guidance counsellor for more information.

  9. Choosing 5 Electives: Ask yourself: Which compulsory courses do I still need in order to graduate? (check the “View Progress” button on myBlueprint if you are not sure) What is my pathway after graduation? Apprenticeship? Work? College? University?

  10. Researching College Programs? www.ontariocolleges.ca is an excellent resource to research college programs, including admission requirements

  11. Visit www.electronicinfo.ca to research University programs, including pre-requisites. Researching University Programs?

Important dates: • Wednesday, February 22nd: Careers Conference • Monday,February 27th– Friday, March 3rd: Submission of Course Selection to P.1 Teachers Submit the following to your period 1 teacher: • Course Selection Sign Off Sheet (from myBlueprint) • Parental Consent Form (from myBlueprint) • Receipt of payment for Student Activity Fee ($65.00 School Cash Online) • April Students will receive a Course Verification Sheet in their period 1 class. It will list the courses that they chose for the 2017/18 school year. Students will be able to make course selection changes at that time if they wish by returning the completed form to Student Services. • May Course selections finalized.

  14. Having Trouble Booking an Appointment? If your request for an appointment cannot be accommodated before the submission deadline, that is okay. Submit your courses by the deadline and changes can be made, if needed, by your counsellor later on.

  16. Go to http://www.myblueprint.ca/hcdsb and login. Use your email address and password to log in.

  17. Click on the``High School” link. This message indicates that your course selections have not been submitted.

  18. Enter your courses here!

  19. To select a course, click on the text.

  20. Select the course you wish to take.

  21. Read the course description and check to make sure that you have the prerequisite.

  22. Click on the ``Add Course`` button to select the course.

  23. Once you have selected all of your courses and 2 alternates, you should have something like this!

  24. Click on the ``View Progress`` button.

  25. Once you have completed your course selections, click on the ``Review Submission`` button

  26. Ensure that there are “No Issues” with your course selections.

  27. If there are no issues, you may click on “Submit Course Selections”

  28. Click on the ``Print Sign-Off Sheet`` button.

  34. Click on the ``Print Sign-Off Sheet`` button.

  36. A message on the main page indicates that course selection has been completed.
