  1. How To Go About Finding A Good Hunting Lease In The South When you do not own land on which to hunt, you have only a few options to enjoy your hobby, or your passion, as it is the case for many hunters and their friends. You either hunt on a friend’s land – or, as most do, you look around for a good lease. There are, of course, a number of issues to consider when you get ready for finding the lease that will suit your needs and profile better than the others. It is important that you feel comfortable with the othalabama deer hunting clubser hunters in your group, if you join a hunting club. Joining clubs works well for most, since it offers you some benefits that the single hunter has to forego. For example, clubs can more easily negotiate a more affordable deal than a single hunter can; shared interests and responsibilities often make for a more satisfying experience. That is why more and more hunters want to be a member of a well- organized hunting club in the South – in states such as Alabama and nearby regions. A good hunting club ensures that the individual benefits from what is offered to the whole group in terms of which they share expenses, and in terms of which certain ideals are respected and ethical behavior appreciated. Once you have found the club – or group – you want to be part of, it is important that everybody shares the same ideas about the state or region where they want to hunt, and, obviously, they need to know what it is that they want to hunt. In the South, for example, whitetail deer is often the ultimate for the hunter that wants to make memories. So the club has to do their research about available leases, and about the quality of the prey – and their chances of leaving with the best buck. Hunting has become much more sophisticated than it was a few decades ago. Nothing happens by chance. The best leases – those that offer a great experience in terms of available buck, at an affordable rate – are often offered by landowners that leave the administration and management of their leases to a consultancy firm that manages various leases. In Alabama, for example, there is the well-known Westervelt Wildlife among those that manage leases for landowners who are either absent from their land, or who are busy elsewhere. These consultants do good work as they help create the ideal circumstances for deer to thrive to, therefore, offer the hunter the best opportunities. This is why more and more hunters approach one of these consultancies for the best lease opportunities. They offer a great service and are able to answer all questions hunters may have. And, of course, it is just easier if one is a member of a club managed by such as service. Also, these consultants have the answers about licenses, about finances, about what the owner’s expectations are with regard to how his land is to be used – and how not. The intermediary, i.e. the agent that acts for both landowner and hunter, has these answers. He is trusted by the landowner, and he is the introduction the hunter needs to secure a great lease. He will inform members of the clubs he manages about their various responsibilities such as having to outline what is expected in terms of food plots, stands, support, number of buck and every other detail that may affect your decision about the best lease. Good managers/agents build a good relationship with the landowners, and likewise they befriend on a professional level those hunters that they get to know as responsible, ethical, cooperative individuals – and members of hunting clubs. Finding a good deer hunting lease in Alabama and elsewhere often starts with finding a good consultant that manages leases on behalf of landowners.
