  • Thomas Edison was born in Milan, Ohio.
  • His parents were named Samuel and Nancy. The couple was married in 1828.
  • When Thomas Alva Edison was born the family called him Little Al.
  • Little Al got into trouble a lot. Little Al had trouble in school so his parents homeschooled him.

  • Thomas Edison was 32 years old when he showed off the first practical light bulb.
  • In 1884 his wife became sick and died in August.
  • In 1885 he met a young woman named Mina Miller.
  • Mina was well educated and her family was wealthy.
  • Thomas Edison’s workshop was at Menlo Park, New Jersey.
