  1. An analysis – The difference between electronic and digital signature survey. The terms "digital signature" and "electronic signature," also known as eSignature are usually used by people these days for online contracting, but contrary to what they think, both electronic and digital signatures are not the same. If this is a misunderstanding, then it will create havoc because it means people are using the wrong tools to sign contracts online. After all, they lack integrity and security. But nothing to worry about because this deep – drive will help to understand the difference and use of digital and electronic signatures. To understand the difference, it is first necessary to know what an electronic and digital signature is. An eSignature is a method of signing a contract that does not require a wet signature. Instead of adding a signature physically with a pen or seal, one can create it online. Just like physical signatures, electronic signature also represents the agreement of one party to another for a definite contract, which makes it a legal bond. The most common way to create an eSignature is to add it manually to spread sheets, PDFs, or Word documents or even simpler, through WeSign. Instead of eSignature, digital signatures rely on the latest authentication processes, like certificate-based IDs. The digital signature, also called 'sealing a document,' provides proof of the authenticity and integrity of a document. It’s a safeguard to protect documents from forgery and tampering. It proves that the signing person assures that any means have not forged the signature. Whether a digital or electronic signature, both provide integrity and authenticity to documents in different ways. A digital signature aids in identifying a particular document, while an eSignature shows the legal bounding of the signature with a specific file. For example, WeSign's eSignature allows a business or legal team to sign documents electronically, but the digital signature maintains the document's legitimacy. The purposes of the two also make a vast difference between them. A digital signature's most appropriate motivation is to ensure the authenticity of a signed document and to demonstrate that it is safe from tampering, alteration, or forgery, whereas an e-signature demonstrates the signer's willingness to enter into a legally binding agreement. The creation of these online tools also varies from line to line. We can create eSignature in PDF, Word, and by using online platforms, but we cannot create it manually, because algorithms and software that depend on public key infrastructure (PKI) develop it. It performs by combining hardware and software and generating a set of two keys one private and one public key to ensure the secure transfer of the documents. The idea behind developing a digital signature is that it is susceptible to all the alterations and tampering that makes the documents more secure. E-signature does not need that much security in comparison to digital signatures because they don't need to meet the same rigid requirements. In other words, a digital signature is not as secure as an electronic signature because its security depends on the purposes of the work, which is very different.
