  5. He is the Author of the Story • He has chosen. Deut. 7:6 • He loves . Deut. 7:8 • He blesses. Deut. 7:14; 8:7-10 • NOT their own righteousness. Deut. 9:4-6

  6. Circumcision • A jealous God theory… • Deuteronomy 10:12-22 (repeats part #1 Commandment) • It’s the heart • It’s the extra • It’s not always “sin”

  7. Take Care of the Poor and Immigrant • A reminder of where they have been. Deut. 10:19 • A reminder of where they are. Deut. 15:7 • A helpful position to stay humble before the Lord. • “You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy, and to the poor, in your land.” Deut. 15:11

  8. UTTER DESTRUCTION • Destroy it completely! • Women • Children • Men • WHY? “That they may not teach you to do according to all their abominable practices that hey have done for their gods,” • Child Sacrifice • Temple Prostitution

  9. Meat Eating… • “And you say, ‘I will eat meat,’ because you crave meat, you may eat meat whenever you desire. If the place that the Lord your God will choose to put his name there is too far from you, then you may kill any of your herd or your flock, which the Lord has given you, as I commanded you, and you may eat within your towns whenever you desire” Deut. 12:20-21

  10. One Place to Worship • All sacrifices • All firstborn • All tithes MUST be brought to the tabernacle for a sacrifice. Deut. 12:1-4
