  1. Chapter 3 The Way of Christ By Adam Wade PowerPoint presentation by Lisa Soignier

  2. Doctrine and Covenants 163:7a-b Scripture is an indispensable witness to the Eternal Source of light and truth, which cannot be fully contained in any finite vessel of language. Scripture has been written and shaped by human authors through experience of revelation and ongoing inspiration of the Holy Spirit in the midst of time and culture

  3. Doctrine and Covenants 163:7a-b Scripture is not to be worshiped or idolized. Only God, the Eternal One of whom scripture testifies, is worthy of worship. God’s nature, as revealed in Jesus Christ and affirmed by the Holy Spirit, provides the ultimate standard by which any portion of scripture should be interpreted and applied.

  14. Who is invited? Jesus stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” And he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. Then he began to say to them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”—Luke 4:16–19
