  1. Matthew 13:24-30 • He put another parable before them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. And the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, 'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?‘ He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' So the servants said to him, 'Then do you want us to go and gather them?' But he said, 'No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.'"

  2. Reaching out to the lost

  3. Six Things On Which We Must Agree

  4. People Are “Lost” • According To Jesus Most People Are Lost • Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matt. 7:13-14). • Jesus Said Some Religious People Will Be Lost • Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? • And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Matt. 7:21-23)

  5. It Is Not Alright To Leave People Lost God Didn’t Leave Us Lost For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.(John 3:16). Jesus Didn’t Leave Us Lost For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10).

  6. The Lost Can’t Find Their Own Way • Without God Lost People Will Remain Lost • O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps (Jer. 10:23). • Man Needs Revelation From God (1 Cor. 2:8-13) • Without God Man Will Worship Ignorantly (Acts 17:18-24) • God’s Word Is The Map Man Needs To Find His Way (Psalm 119:104-105; Prov. 2:1-6).

  7. God Has Revealed A Way To Be Saved Jesus Is The Way (John 14:6). His Gospel Is The Means (Rom. 1:16-17; 1 Cor. 15:1-4). His gospel must be heard (Rom. 10:17; John 6:44-45). His gospel must be believed (John 8:24). Belief leads to repentance (Luke 13:3; Matt. 20:28-32) Repentance leads to confession(Rom. 10:9-10). Confession leads to baptism(Acts 8:37; 22:16). Christ Word Is The Truth (John 8:31-34; 17:17).

  8. It Will Be Detrimental To Remain Lost • Why are people lost? (1 John 3:4; Rom. 3:23) • What happens if I die lost? (Heb 9:27; 2 Cor 5:10) • What happens if the Lord returns (2 Thess 1:7-9) • Because we don’t know the time • Of our departure from this life. • Or the Lord’s return. We should reach out to the lost (2 Cor. 5:11).

  9. It Will Be Beneficial To Be Saved • Jesus came to take away sin (1 John 3:8). • Removal of sin provides access to God (1 John 1:5-7). • Communion with God grants us heaven (1John 5:11-13). • Jesus will take the saved with Him (1 Thess 4:13-18). • We reach out to the lost now so people who are lost temporally, can be saved eternally!

  10. Three Keys To Reaching Out To The Lost

  11. See The Worth Of One Soul • We Must Believe This Passage (Matthew 16:26). • God cares for animals (Jonah 4:9-11). • God cares much more for people (Matt 6:26-31). • We share His image (Gen. 1:26-27). • When we believe about humans as God and Christ does. • No effort is too great. • No distance is too far. • No amount of money is too much. • If one soul is worth the whole world.

  12. Change Our Motivation We tend to see reaching out in terms of duty An obligation a. With rewards and punishment. b. Maybe a misunderstanding of Paul (1 Cor. 9:1-27). Instead we must see reaching out as an act of love! 1. God so loved the world (John 3:16). 2. Christ loved (John 10:17-18; 15:13; 1 John 3:16). 3. The Spirit’s Fruit Is Love (Galatians 5:22). Paul saw reaching out this way (2 Cor. 5:1-21).

  13. Make Reaching Out Personal What would you do?

Keep going and wish you knew more about C.P.R. • b. Tell them to roll out of the street before they get hit. • c. Ignore them and go for your best time. • d.
