  2. Tips for Healthy Heart • 1. Stop smoking: Smoking reduces life expectancy by 15-25 years. If you are a smoker, you are twice more likely to have a heart attack than a non-smoker. The moment you stop smoking, the risk of heart attack begins to reduce. 2. Cut down on salt: Too much salt can cause high blood pressure, which increases the risk of developing coronary heart disease.

  3. Tips for Healthy Heart • 3. Watch your diet: Try to have a balanced diet. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, starch foods such as wholegrain bread and rice. • Eat foods rich in beta-carotenes. They can cut your risk of a stroke by 40 percent. Foods rich in beta-carotenes include carrots, cabbage, winter squash, sweet potatoes, dark leafy greens, apricots, and seaweed. • Eat foods rich in essential fatty acids. Fresh pressed oils of wheat germ or flax seed are especially for nourishing.
