  3. Holy, Holy, Holy. A passage from the Gospel according to Saint Luke (4:38-41), may his blessings be upon us all. Amen. Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. So He bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them. When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying His hands on each one, He healed them. Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, ‘‘You are the Son of God!'' But He rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew He was the Christ. Glory Be To God Forever, Amen

  8. Great Lent Week 6: The Man Born Blind • -John 9 • -This man had great faith in Jesus. Unlike the paralytic man, he had hope and was eager to experience this great miracle. • -Even when Jesus spit and placed the mud on his eyes, he did not question it, but he obeyed. • -Because he obeyed and had faith, he was able to not only receive his physical sight, but his spiritual sight as well. This inner illumination allowed him to see the greatness of Jesus in his life. It also gave him the strength to stand against the Jews and confess to them who Jesus was. • -This week Jesus is sending us this grace of illumination, which will shine the way for us in the narrow path. Even when it is hard to go against our earthly knowledge and ways.
