  1. Design of an Incubator for Premature Infant Based on Lab VIEW INTERNAL GUIDE Mrs.H.ABIRAMI M.E Lecturer \ICE DEPT. S.I.T SUBMITTED BY M.HAJA MUBINUDEEN(91706112011) M.MOHAMED BUKHARI(91706112018) K.ARUL JEEVA(91706112302)

  2. OBJECTIVE • To create an atmosphere that simulates an environment equivalent to the uterus of a mother • With facilities include • automatic temperature control • automatic humidity control • remote alarming

  3. ABSTRACT This project introduces the system structure, hardware circuits, control algorithms, The software program of the incubator for premature infant based on LabVIEW. The main advantages of this device are that preheating is less time than others, the capability of meeting of emergency situation is provided Control track of temperature and humidity are visible, operation is easy to clinical practice, and maintainability is possessed

  4. Existing System They are partially or completely Manually controlled systems, which requires a skilled man power. Analog type of value setting and displays, hinder the user in recognize the status. Remote monitoring and controlling is not possible since there is no PC interface. Not having GUI for interfacing and control

  5. Proposed System Remote monitoring and controlling of system is possible. Graphical User Interface provides an efficient communication between the man and machine Remote Calling Facility, in case of any emergency Digitized control make it easy to set the values and reading the data

  6. Incubator Incubator for premature infant is a man-made environment of simulating temperature and humidity in uterus. Here temperature control and humidity control are emphases entire design. System structure of Incubator for premature infant is based on LabVIEW

  8. Functionality Temperature sensor senses the ambient temperature and the measured value is fed to the PC and is processed by lab view. If the value deviates from set value, then correction is made through heater and cooling system.

  9. Functionality contd.. Relative humidity is measured by the humidity sensor and is fed to the Lab View system. If the humidity value deviates from set value, then the humidifier will be switched on to bring the required humidity level.

  10. Heat Control System This system involves a heating Lamp for increasing the ambient temperature of the chamber. The heating is of radiative type. The cooling is done by a cooling fan. This system cools the chamber by injecting cold air inside the chamber.

  11. Hardware Temperature sensor Humidity Sensor PIC 16F877A Relay

  12. Need for LM35 Most commonly-used electrical temperature sensors are difficult to apply. Thermistors are nonlinear. In addition, the outputs of these sensors are not linearly proportional to any temperature scale. Early monolithic sensors, such as the LM3911, LM134 and LM135, overcame many of these difficulties, but their outputs are related to the Kelvin temperature scale rather than the more popular Celsius and Fahrenheit scales.

  13. Humidity Sensor

  14. Humidifier The most common type of humidifier is called an evaporative humidifier. This type of humidifier is actually quite simple and, for the most part, self-regulating. A reservoir holds cold water and dispenses it into a basin. A wicking filter absorbs the water from the basin. A fan then blows air through the moistened filter.

  15. Software Embedded ‘C’ LAB View CCS compiler PIC Kit2 MPLAB IDE

  16. Need For VI It has characteristics of high efficiency Self-checking function of hardware circuits and software program.

  17. LAB-VIEW • Lab-view is a graphical programming environment used for high lelvel or system level design. • Easily develop, maintain and understand code with an flowchart representation • Faster Programming

  18. Advantages Alarm for fan when it can not turn, alarm for sensor when it has been broken, and alarm for humidifier when it can not work . Improved detecting speed humidity sensor intelligence and automation.

  19. Schematics

  20. Conclusion • This system used Lab VIEW to build makes all operation in control of keyboard or mouse. • In this sense, it makes hardware design easiest and cuts down production cost. At the same time, it provides advantage for improvement of system. • This method also uses Lab View's features that it is interactive graphics, a state-of-the-art interface, and a powerful graphical programming language to make this system briefly. • Practice proves that this system has favorable usability
