  2. Analog Clock • A device for measuring time by moving hands around a circle for showing hours, minutes, and sometimes seconds Example:

  3. Digital Clock • A clock that shows time to the minute using digitsExample:

  4. minute (min) • A unit used to measure short amounts of time; in one minute, the minute hand moves from one mark to the next. 60 seconds = 1 minute

  5. Minute Hand • The long hand on a clock Example:

  6. Hour • There are minutes in an hour.

  7. Hour Hand • The short hand on a clock Example:

  8. Half-past or half hour • There are 30 minutes in a half hour.

  9. o’clock • The clock shows 1 o'clock.

  10. A.M. • The time between midnight and noon

  11. noon • twelve o'clock in the day

  12. P.M. • The time between noon and midnight

  13. midnight • twelve o'clock at night

  14. Elapsed Time • The amount of time that passes from the start of an activity to the end of that activity

  15. TIME • 1 minute (min)= 60 seconds (sec)   • 1 hour (hr)= 60 minutes • 1 day= 24 hours • 1 week (wk)= 7 days • 1 year (yr)= 12 months (mo) •     or 52 weeks •     or 365 days
