  • Has steep sides.
  • Higher than a hill.
  • Top comes to a peak, like a point.

WHAT IS A HILL?

  • Smaller than a mountain.
  • Top is rounded.
  • Sloping sides.
  • An incline, such as a road.

WHAT IS A PLATEAU?

  • It is high, at least 1,500 feet.
  • Has a flat surface
  • Can extend for hundreds of miles
  • Has at least one steep side

  • Made up of water that continuously flows downward.
  • Originates from the tops of mountains.
  • Ends at an ocean or a sea.
  • Carries rocks and sand with it.
  • Creates erosion.
  • Sculptors of land such as channels, canyons, and valleys.

  • A desert is dry or arid.

  • Made up of sand with limited plant life.
