  11. DRAFT MISSION STATEMENT “Seeking to reflect Jesus in our community” Seeking:Not having arrived we are motivated to move forward towards the achieving of our mission. To Reflect: To reflect anything one must be in proper relationship to both the object and the observer. Like a mirror, when it reflects, it should not be seen, but only allow the object to be noticed. Jesus: He is the centre of our statement and the only true object of our reflection. Our Community: Our church is a community, a living organism that seeks to be like Jesus our Lord, reflection not only the person but also His values, ethics and morality as understood in His word. We are also part of a wider community that includes the Dural district and the world community. Our community in all its diversity is the observer. By holding Him up to all we proclaim the gospel in word, sign and deed.

  16. Future Development. ELDERS: The Transition Team has spent some time talking about the introduction of Elders into the Church. They believe that they would have been helpful in the conflict of recent years. We wanted, in the spirit of open communications, to flag the possibility for them to start in the church. A paper has been prepared for future discussion. In terms of the Goals they would be responsible for ensuring the values of the church are upheld and provide the spiritual oversight of those who are ministering in the church and all who attend the church. It is not intended to run a full discussion of this at this time but we are putting onto a future agenda.
