  1. Adding an SSL Certificate in Eudora You open Eudora and try to either download your mail or send a message, but you only succeed in getting this error message…

  2. SSL Negotiation Failed: Certificate Error: Cert Chain Not Trusted. Try adding this certificate to your certificate database for SSL to succeed.

  3. First, select the Personality tab.

  4. Right click on a personality and select Properties from the pop-up menu. SSL certificates must be installed for each personality.

  5. The Account Settings dialog box for the personality appears. It has two tabs: Generic, for sent mail, and Incoming, for received mail. Both tabs have equivalent buttons for Last SSL Info. Did you fail to download mail or send a message? Click on the corresponding tab and button.

  6. You will get an alert such as this if you have not yet sent or received mail. This alert is specifically for sending mail, but there is a similar one for receiving mail. Click on the other tab and button.

  7. To add the certificate, click the Manager.

  8. Continue by clicking View Certificate Details.

  9. Continue by clicking Install Certificate… ,

  10. and Next >,

  11. and Next > ,

  12. and Finish ,

  13. and OK ,

  14. and finally OK.

  15. Back at the Certificate Manager, just click Add to Trusted and …

  16. and Done.

  17. Finally back at the Connection Manager, click OK to finish. Repeat for other actions and personalities.
