  2. You can find my Spanish 1-2 web backpack at: http://www4.smsd.org/evelynthompson/ http://www4.smsd.org/evelynthompson/html12306.htm Each day’s class work and homework is posted on the web backpack site to make it easier for students and parents to get makeup work and prepare for upcoming exams.

  3. You can find the book website at: • http://amsco.extendsales.com/AMSCOPUB/control/productdetails?&item_id=9781567654806 Students may purchase the workbook if they prefer to write directly in their workbook (as opposed to writing the answers on a separate sheet of paper.) The workbooks cost approx $20 with shipping. The book is called Spanish Two Years

  4. Spanish 2 Overview The student grade will be determined as follows: SEMESTER GRADE QUARTER 1 & 2 = 86% Quarter 3 & 4 = 86% Sem 1 FINAL = 14% Sem 2 Final = 14% QUARTER GRADES will come from a totaled combination of written assignments, listening exercises, speaking assignments, participation points and tests. From that, approximately 20-30% of the total points will come from tests Student Expectations/Responsabilities: Students are expected to be actively engaged in the classroom as evidenced by class participation and completion of daily work, projects, and all other activities designed to meet the unique learning styles that will be used.

  5. Daily work I place a lot of emphasis on daily work for a number of reasons: 1) It helps the kids to individually practice the new and reviewed concepts. I’ve found that the kids have to do less studying for tests when they have been doing more written practice. 2) It teaches work ethic. The students benefit from putting more work into their own learning. It is a good lifelong habit to learn as they prepare for their futures. 3) The additional points from daily work also gives the students more control over their grade. Those additional points really help those students who struggle with test-taking.
