  1. Book Review Title of the book: The Story of Tracey Beaker Author: Jacqueline Wilson Publisher: Random House Student: Wong Wai Hung 3E (36)

  2. The Story of Tracy Beaker (also called as simply: "Tracy Beaker") is a story of a foster child who named Tracy Beaker. She is a poor child and she even doesn’t know how her mother looks like. Always Tracy thinks that her mother will come to bring her back. But it doesn’t come true. Staying with other mean and nasty kids who are in foster care, Tracy stamps and screams for all the time because she is too alone, and doesn’t have a nice best friend. She wants to get others’ attention and care. By reading this book, I changed my mind a lot. Tracy doesn’t like to be alone but she "needs" to be alone sarcastically because she doesn’t like to be near with her friends in foster care. So she hits her friends often to get adults’ attention. Her purpose is just to gain others’ care. It is just a small ideal but she can’t achieve that still. Since Tracy was born, she hasn’t been loved by anybody. She lacks love. This changes her character. She has changed from a lovely baby to a dim child. This also results in many arguments between her and her friends. Things she need are just love and care. On the other hand, we are much more blessed than Tracy. Though she is a child, she doesn’t have anything that usual child should have, even a toy that bought by her parents. All her parents left for her was just sadness. For her, what do ‘care’ and ‘love’ mean? She doesn’t know. But nowadays, children just express their needs but don’t try to appreciate what they have. All I want to say is that we should appreciate what we have now and try to share them with other unfortunate people. To summarize, nice life isn’t absoluteness, we should share what we have with people who are less fortunate. We need to appreciate what we are having too because tomorrow is future, we can’t foresee the future. Children are our future; all they need are just love and care.
