Objectives • partial matching • matching of complementary shapes relevant for docking? • support for all kinds of shapes CAD models (sharp features), bio-molecules (flexibility, conformations), … • shape semantics (tagging, tag inference, …) • infra structure index to support multiple similarity measures, …

Peer2Peer Photo Repository • the old days: • take a few photographs, develop, label and store them • show them to a few friends in the evening • nowadays: • digicams  a lot more photographs are taken • photographs are mostly stored on a computer • very often remain unorganized (due to sheer amount) • images are shared via the internet in photo communities

Peer2Peer Photo Repository • 1st Goal: automated organization of photos • avoid manual interaction if possible -- just download them from the digicam, and they're categorized (according to subject) • allow for similarity search, e.g., display all images showing Kurt • 2nd Goal: Peer2Peer image sharing • make whole portfolio online available • allow P2P searches for similar images • market place for photographs ...
