  2. One AEA Auditor approved No CRB’s currently recognized Several queries from ANAB CRBs under Mutual Recognition but SCC fee structure prohibitive Interest in program beginning to be seen in Canada AS Program update

Currently updating processes and procedures to conform with ISO/IEC 17011 New audit process, templates and forms for Audit planning activities On-site audit activities Witness Audit activities Due to large number of joint audits conducted with ANAB of CRB’s qualified under AQMS program, new SCC processes incorporate this industry sector. Update on QMSAP Program

Cross Frontier Accreditation having significant impact on program Oversight required at all critical locations Increase in required oversight SCC has been surveying CRBs to find out where and what type of certs are being issued Some surprises with large Multi-nationals Cross Frontier Accreditation

All CRBs have responded to Critical location Survey Clarification being sought from some CRBs Current Stats (approx): 61 Critical locations SCC to perform oversight at 31 (51%) SCC/OAB to perform joint audits at 13 (21%) SCC to accept other AB report for 17 (27%) 60 WA anticipated SCC to perform 56 (93%) mostly ISO 14001 and CMDCAS SCC to accept other AB report for 4 (7%) Status

  6. SCC auditors will be verifying CRB identification of critical locations during annual oversight activity RMC should note policy participation in oversight and applicability of cross frontier to AS sector Status

  7. Training session with SCC auditors held May 2005 2 days of training were conducted jointly with ANAB auditors Training attended by INMETRO and CNAB representatives Training session supports MCAA Subjects addressed: New procedures for Joint audits Acceptance of other AB oversight findings Calibration in citing findings Training

  8. 8th Issue to be released 2005-07 Will contain AS program update Electronic copies will be available on SCC website Copy will be sent to RMC Chair for information MS Bulletin

  9. Wish list One comprehensive list of SMS approved courses Training for OEM assessors
