  3. Board Structures 1. Flat Board Responsibilities are predominantly shared by members of the board. Some specificity may exist but there is overlap. Ex) NAACP 2. Vertically Functioning Board Responsibilities are specifically delegated by the nature of the position held. More independent rather than collaborative. Ex) SAC
