  2. Guidelines & Reminders • Open up your Poetry Daily Work document • Label the top “Song Lyrics” • Go to my website and open up the power point labeled “Song Lyrics” • We are going to be first reading the lyrics and looking for FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE and TONE/MOOD and then listening to the song

  3. Protocol • Preview the lyrics by clicking on the link provided. You will do this SILENTLY and INDIVIDUALLY. • Then, write down ALL the examples of figurative language that you find: • Simile/Metaphor/Personification/Repetition/Rhyme/Onomatopoeia/Imagery/Alliteration • Share

Tone/Mood • Write down the “Tone” of the song. • Use the “Tone/Mood Words” link on my website • We will be listening to the song together. • When you’re finished revisit the tone you picked and make adjustments, if necessary. • Use TWO pieces of evidence to support the tone. • Then, select a logical mood for you, the listeners, based on the tone you selected.
