  2. The Situation • It’s a cold Autumn night • You’re staying up late studying for an exam • You suddenly have the impulse to write in your journal • Oh No! I left my journal back at home! • But I do have my laptop… • I can use BLAH BLAHBLAH!

  3. What is BLAH BLAHBLAH? • Vision Statement: To deliver an improved journaling system that blends the personal touch of a paper journal with the advantages of electronic media. • Avoid hassles of paper journals • Easy to use

  4. Features • Add your daily journal entries • Saving and loading capabilities • Link to past journal entries • Find your entries with easy-to-use calendar and search functions • Format your entries with rich HTML editing

  7. Patterns We Used • Model View Controller • Used to coordinate the journal and the system with the view at any given time • Very important pattern for journal management • Inheritance • All front end was inherited from Qt Classes • Audio, Video, and Picture classes were inherited from Media

Concluding Remarks • Weekly meeting • Divided work accordingly to member’s skill sets • What worked • Weekly meetings created a sense of accountability • All got along • What didn’t work • Lack of experience with development tools (Qt, svn, wiki, bug tracker) • Later in development, parts didn’t fit together
