  4. Accent modification • DESCRIPTION: Advanced ESL speakers receive guidance and extensive practice in refining oral production and listening skills. Listening focuses on discrimination of sounds in English and on comprehension of connected spoken discourse. Oral production focuses on increasing control of the English sound system. The course emphasis is on overall pronunciation improvement so as to minimize miscommunication or misperception due to foreign accent. • 3 semester units
