  2. What we need to do before we leave. • Terminate our apartment lease/sell the house. • Turn off electric, gas, cable, internet, phone, water services. • Close bank accounts. • Notify any credit card accounts, etc that we’ve moved.

  3. When we get there • Find a place to live. Hayden Landing. 3 bed, 2 bath, for $725.00 =deposit.

  4. Hook up utilities • Electric –XTO Energy • Water – Big Blue • Gas - Enogex • Cable, internet, home phone – AT & T • Cell phone – T- Mobile

  5. Open Bank Account • Bank of America • Order Checks

  6. Safe Neighborhood • Highest safety rating – Moore area

  7. Enroll in Schools • Elementary – Red Oak Elementary • Middle School – Brinks Elementary • High School -- Westmoore High • All scored at or above the state average in all areas across the board.

  8. Find a job • The job market in Oklahoma City is better than in most of the U. S.

  9. Other things • Get an Oklahoma driver’s license. - Dept. of Public Safety • Register to vote --on line at Rock the Vote

  10. Reflections • I didn’t know there would be soooo much to do. • Maybe I’ll just stay here in Texas.
