  2. Prepare 20 gm of effervescent base • sodium Bicarbonate 53 % • citric acid 19 % • tartaric acid 28 % Calculations: Prepare 25 gm & 5 gm extra …. Base alone Sodium bicarbonate = 25 x 53/100 = 13.25 gm Citric acid = 25 x 19/100 = 4.75 gm Tartaric acid = 25 x 28/100 = 7 gm Alcohol = 25 x 15 ml/100 = 3.75 ml

  3. Prepare 20 gm of effervescent granules containing 10 % Iron Ammonium citrate Calculations: Base + drug Drug = 25 x 10/100 = 2.5 gm Wight of the base = 25 – 2.5 = 22.5 gm Wight of sodium bicarbonate = 22.5 x 53/100 = 11.9 gm Wight of citric acid = 22.5 – 19/100 = 4.3 gm Wight of tataric acid = 22.5 x 28/100 = 6.3
