Autumn TalkCharles Henry DriverPioneering Victorian Architect2.30-4 pmSaturday 17 November Dr Paul Dobraszczyk of Reading University will talk about the life and works of the architect who pioneered the use of ornamental iron work and tiling in industrial buildings. CH Driver is buried in West Norwood. He worked on The Crystal Palace with Joseph Paxton, and with Jospeh Bazalgette on the Thames Embankment and the richly decorated pumping houses at Abbey Mills and Crossness. Other famous works include London Bridge, Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill railway stations. Chatsworth Baptist Church Hall Idmiston Road, SE27 Talks are free.
