  2. Chasing Chad Mission • Chasing Chad provides supportto local brain tumor patients, • provides funding for valuable brain cancer researchand • promotes a healthier lifestyle by striving for and achieving bold fitness goals • all in memory of our friend, • Chad Bordwell

  3. 45 years ago, • Chad Bordwell was born

  4. Chad was a loving husband and father of three young girls. He also was a son, brother and friend to many.

  5. Chad was a driven individual, personally and professionally as a Direct Supply General Manager. He was an avid runner, completing 9 marathons, and a sport enthusiast. 

  6. 9 years ago, • Chasing Chad was formed

  7. Chasing Chad is Formed First formed in December 2009 as a group to support and inspire Chad when he was in the hospital. Many friends pledged to complete the equivalent of a marathon (26.2 miles) of physical activity during the month.

  8. Chasing Chad is Formed • Chad passed away on December 18, 2009. Chad asked that we use the enthusiasm and support to help raise money for brain cancer research

  9. In the past 9 years, you’ve helped real people fighting a terrible disease

  10. You helped Ella Ella was in first grade when she was diagnosed with a Craniopharyngioma at Children’s Hospital. Her treatment included proton beam radiation in Boston. YOU paid for her family’s stay at Christopher’s Haven during her 6 weeks of treatment.

  11. You helped Becki Becki was diagnosed with a glioblastoma in November 2013. YOU contributed to a fundraiser created by Becki’s family and friends.

  12. You helped Lindsey • YOUhelped Lindsey get some much-needed repairs on her car, providing safe transportation to her treatments.

  13. You helped Jahyuni & Layla • YOU partnered with Make-A-Wish to make wishes come true for children with brain tumors.

  14. You helped Bill Bill was undergoing chemotherapy and wearing an Optune cap in this picture. YOU paid for his battery pack and a cooling pillow to help him sleep while wearing the cap 18 hours a day. YOU paid his expenses for accessories to this treatment.

  15. You helped Lexie Lexie was diagnosed with a glioblastoma in July 2011. She underwent surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiation. As with most tumors, in August 2014, Lexie’s scheduled scan showed several areas of tumor regrowth. Lexie lost her battle with brain cancer in 2015 at the age of 30. YOU paid some of Lexie’s expenses.

  17. This year, nearly 14,000 people will lose their battle with a brain tumor. But today, you can make a difference

  18. Today you can help celebrate Chad’s life… …and help a brain tumor victim and their family

  19. There are nearly 700,000 people in the U.S. currently living with a brain tumor. Over 138,000 are malignant There is currently no cure for glioblastomas, one of the most aggressive tumors. Sources: National Brain Tumor Society, Acceleratebraincancercure.org

  20. Today, you can help work towards a cure

  21. Malignant brain tumors are the most common cause of cancer-related deaths in • adolescents and young adults aged 15-39 • and the most common canceroccurring among 15-19 year olds

  22. Today, you can help provide hope to these adolescents and their families

  23. You’ve already done so much good • Youhave helped us provide over$45,000 to brain tumor patients helping many of them secure safe treatments • Youhave helped us provide 200 books for patients at Froedtert Hospital

  24. You’ve already done so much good • From 2010 through 2017, youhave helped Chasing Chad donate over $130,000to the Medical College of Wisconsin for brain tumor research.

You’ve already done so much good • You have help fund research at MCW to provide better patient care right here in our community • Youhave help fund the Chasing Chad Neuro-Oncology ResearchIntern Program specifically for brain tumor research • Youhave help fund dedicated radiology technicians, equipment, access, imaging time and space for brain tumor patients

  26. You’ve already done so much good • You have not only raised much needed funds but kept Chad’s memory alive through participating in healthy lifestyle events
