  3. Constraints • PES dual system has not been practicable due to unavailability of independent agencies to carry out the exercise • PES single system costly and demanding on scarce resources availed for the census (last census was 100% government funded)

  4. Re-interviews by Area Supervisors, immediately after enumeration (small scale) • …and subsequent comparison of individual records

  5. LAST 3 CENSUSES

  6. Plans for 2010 round • Proper PES envisaged to be carried out 3 months after main enumeration. • Survey to cover all administrative districts • Evaluation to consider both coverage and content • Single system approach foreseen
