  3. Definition • Lingua franca: Any language that is widely used as a means of communication among speakers of other languages. • Definition from the book : language of communication between two people. • Example : Colombians use Spanish and Brazilians use Portuguese.

  6. Definition • Pidgins : when two groups with different language are communicatory in a situation where there is also a third dominant language. • Example : Two Chinese characters pei and tsin meaning paying money .
