  2. COMMITMENT #1 We lay the cornerstone of leadership A Liberal Arts education is the academic foundation of leadership. We commit to teaching our students critical thinking and analysis, independence of mind, effective written and spoken communication skills, and global awareness.

  3. Study Abroad $200K Undergraduate Research $50K Freshman Seminars $80K We lay the cornerstone of leadership Focus for Development Fund-raising Pre-Law, Pre-Med Programs COMMITMENT #1

  4. COMMITMENT #2 We lead through scholarship Texas A&M is a tier one research university and the College of Liberal Arts has invested heavily in enhancing its research capacity. We commit to the highest standards for hiring and evaluating faculty and to building programs of research nationally recognized for excellence.

  5. International Travel Grants $40K Faculty Leave Support $100K We lead through scholarship Seed Funding Program $160K Strategic Development Fund $300K COMMITMENT #2

  6. COMMITMENT #3 We bring faculty research into the classroom Faculty teach students their research and involve them in it to communicate that serious reflection is both open to the new and respectful of the past. We commit to teaching that is outstanding because it is enriched by our faculty’s research expertise and depth of knowledge.

  7. Dissertation Improvement Awards $100K Vision 2020 Graduate Fellowships $200K Recruitment Funding $30K We bring faculty research into the classroom Undergraduate Research Freshman Critical Thinking Seminars COMMITMENT #3

  8. COMMITMENT #4 We value people Students, faculty, and staff in the College of Liberal Arts live and work in a global, multicultural society. We commit to building a community where all are included and valued, and that reflects the diversity and richness of the state of Texas.

  9. Support for departmental climate plans $60K Associate Dean for Diversity $25K We value people Seminars and Lectures in AFST and WGST $20K Staff Professional Development $10K COMMITMENT #4

  10. COMMITMENT #5 We are careful stewards of our resources The College of Liberal Arts raises and deploys resources to achieve its strategic goals by the most efficient means. We commit to using a goal-driven fiscal administration that is transparent and accountable to the taxpayers of Texas, our students and former students, and corporate partners.
