  2. Click on picture to go to: www.presidiacreative.com The pain inflicted by an adult relative is the salient part of this image, and a desire to avoid it. The child’s desire is reflected in the text that are encouraging the Fraich Frites. The text looks more ornate and small compared to the rest of the picture. As a result I would assume it is directed at an adult. The company will obviously benefit. The buyer may also benefit. The adult relatives may receive a negative stigma from this advertisement though.

  3. The face of this kid goat is salient as it stairs out of the magazine at you. Also the characters from Ranger Rick are saying hi with their small images. The boldest part of the text is just the title of the magazine, which would be directed at the children. The smaller text is directed at the parents to explain that the magazine has a wholesome focus and indicate who is sponsoring it. The ideas are the magazines, nature conservationists, but do not really harm anyone. They would benefit the propagation of environmental concerns. That might be detrimental to companies that are stereo typed as ‘opposed to nature’ like loggers and oil companies. Click to go to http://i46.tinypic.com

  4. The Star Wars characters fighting is the most salient part of this Lego club cover. The fact that they are legos is of course part of the saliency too. The text represents the contents of the magazine. It is directed at youth, because it is asking questions that the child who is a subscriber (or potentially one) would want to answer. The author is trying to entice the viewer to open up the book and find the answers on the front, which might benefit the sales of both the magazine and future Lego purchases. All the fighting will could encourage war if taken the wrong way. Click to go to http://1.bp.blogspot.com

  5. Pink is everywhere, as well as a lot of face shots. Barbie is also holding onto some secret, as is portrayed by her finger to her lips. The abundant text are obviously aimed at getting the assumed female reader to look inside the book to find stickers, movies stars, stories, party plans, and a possible contest winning. This of course benefits the Barbie sellers as well as the world of cosmetics and movies. Little girls may get some shiny toy ideas out of it, which will of course cost the parents. There is also a large focus on a white skinny girl who likes white guys. Anyone who does not fit into those stereo types may feel sidelined. Click to go to http://2.bp.blogspot.com

  6. The salient image here is a child checking out the world and discovering nature. The text is very simple, accept for of course the small adult stuff. The word ‘detective’ may need to be read with an adult. The benefit would seem to be for parent and child, as well as of course the magazine publisher and nature buffs. Dictators may not much like the whole exploration idea. Click to go to http://www.cricketmag.com
