Notes for SHS Preparations • Reports & plans mustbe evidence-based • Use the projection tools and maps • SHS Preparations must fit strategic and operational plans of the Region/Division • Coverage for operational and strategic planning is 3-5 years • Strategies must be filtered and prioritized • Yearly requirements must be fulfilled while providing emphasis on SHS preparations

Preparations and Resources for SHS Planning • Download all files on http://www.tinyurl.com/SHSPlanningGuideand regularly check for updates. • Ensure that the region and every division has a Senior High School Implementation Team/Task Force • Complete all data, use the Senior High School Projections Tool, and ensure that ICT coordinators have mapped all schools. • Flag policy-level implications you might encounter and inform Central Office

Action Steps for Regions & Divisions*Check SHS Preparations Memo for more details External Assessment: • STEP 1: Discuss plans with LGUs and District Representatives • STEP 2: Meet with industries and private sector (companies, associations, committees, etc.) • STEP 3: Meet with your local CHED, TESDA, DOLE, and DTI counterparts • STEP 4: Meet with Private high schools, HEIs, SUCs, LCUs, and TVIs Internal Assessment: • STEP 5: Check enrollment projections using the SHS Projections Tool • STEP 6: Conduct surveys among parents and students • STEP 7: Check existing resources and prepare all data (facilities, teachers, staff, competencies, buildable space, and potential school sites) PlanningProper: • STEP 8: Based on all information, data, and directions gathered from Steps 1 to 7, determine where the division/region will offer Senior High School

What are their 5 year plans? What skills would they need? What can they contribute to SHS implementation?)

Summary of Initial Results: (What are their plans for SHS and K to 12 transition? What data/studies were they able to share with you? How does this help guide your plans? What areas/modes of collaboration have you established with the other agencies?)

Summary of Initial Results: (What are their plans for SHS and K to 12 transition? What data were you able to gather about the institutions? What is their absorptive capacity? How do they fit in your division/region’s SHS provision plan?)
