Media Policy At the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, our public relations goals are to: • Create public awareness for the challenges the Hispanic community faces on the path to homeownership, • Promote awareness for NAHREP’s mission in its support of real estate professionals that serve the Latino community • Advocate change through public awareness & education, legislative policy

Media Policy We will use Press interviews to do the following: • Present facts & trends that illustrate the disparity in the home ownership rate within the Hispanic community. • Create awareness for NAHREP programs that offer value to the real estate and business community. • Promote awareness among the Hispanic community of the standard of professionalism to which all NAHREP members aspire. • Acknowledge corporate sponsors for their support of NAHREP programs • Create awareness for NAHREP’s Political Action Committee, its position on key issues and legislative goals. • Advocate programs and services that increase the rate of homeownership in the Hispanic community.

  4. Media Policy As NAHREP spokespeople, we agree to represent NAHREP’s goals & mission with utmost professionalism and integrity. We will use media opportunities ethically and responsibly to help advance the organization and will adhere to the standards outlined here: • We will not use any press interview for self promotion or personal gain. • We will not use the press to disparage any organization, elected official or legislative policy in order to advance our agenda. • We will not use media interviews to air personal opinions.

Media Policy • We will never represent our personal or political views as those of the organization. • We will never lie to a reporter. • We will never speculate or offer conjecture in the absence of facts. • We will never comment to the press on NAHREP programs, appointments, resignations, events that have not been officially announced. • We will never compromise the privacy of any NAHREP member or client of a NAHREP member in the press to promote the organization’s agenda. • We will take the high road on issues and will not use negativity to create controversy.

  6. Media Procedures & Practices General Guidelines • Affiliate spokespeople will clear all media interview opportunities with NAHREP National PRIOR to granting any interviews. • Any and all Affiliate Chapter press materials must be reviewed and approved by NAHREP National prior to distribution.
