  2. 86students enrolled in the technological line of study took part to this survey. They had to tick three causes which they consider the most important when playing truant. Their answers were: Family problems - 65 Health problems - 74 Their entourage inside and outside the school - 20 The lack of preparation for their exams - 4 The lack of daily preparation for classes - 15 Misunderstandig the subjects taught during classes - 7 Learning at school is not necessary - 0 Personal problems which led to disappointment in their lives - 38 The lack of interest in the school subject - 12 The family’s reluctance in their further studies - 0 Disliking some teachers - 4 Getting involved in other activities (travelling, work) - 17 The lack of spare time - 0 Worrying about their own safety(violence) - 0 The lack of activities within the school - 0 The lack of money - 2 La sondaj au participat 86 elevi de la filiera tehnologică. Aceştia au trebuit să bifeze cele mai importante 3 cauze pe care le consideră responsabile pentru absenteism. Au dat următoarele răspunsuri: 1. Probleme familiale - 65 2. Probleme de sănătate - 74 3. Anturajul colegial şi din afara şcolii - 20 4. Lipsa pregătirii pentru examene - 4 5. Lipsa pregătirii la orele de curs (zi de zi) - 15 6. Neînţelegerea subiectelor predate la cursuri - 7 7. Nu consideră necesar a învăţa la şcoală - 0 8. Datorită unei probleme personale care a cauzat o decepţie în viaţa mea - 38 9. Lipsa de interes faţă de curs - 12 10. Neacceptul familiei de a continua studiile - 0 11. Lipsa de agreare a unor profesori - 4 12. Implicarea în alte activităţi în afara şcolii (călătorii, munca)- 17 13. Lipsa de timp liber - 0 14. Mă tem pentru siguranţa mea (violenţa) - 0 15. Lipsa de activităţi în cadrul şcolii - 0 16. Lipsa banilor - 2

  5. Students’ opinions: 1. Students should be warned that in case of a low attendance they would do voluntary work within the school. 2. If they play truant, students should be punished by decreasing their conduct grade. 3. A good solution for increasing attendance is communication. There are numberless cases in which there is a lack of communication between parents and children, between the homeroom teacher and parents and, what is more, the lack of a constructive dialog between the homeroom teacher and students. Parents are not interested in the people whom their children consider friends and whom are usually the main cause of truancy. 4. It is advisable that the homeroom classes dwelling upon educational subjects should be better organised. 5. Some more students do not like school, they do not have a very clear vision of their future and, consequently, they do not attend school. Din comentariile elevilor: 1. Elevii ar trebui atenţionaţi că în cazul unui număr mare de absenţe vor face voluntariat pentru înfrumuseţarea şcolii. 2. Pentru chiul de la ore, elevii trebuie pedepsiţi prin scăderea notei la purtare. 3. O soluţie pentru reducerea numărului de absenţe ale elevilor este comunicarea. În foarte multe cazuri lipseşte comunicarea dintre părinţii şi copii, dintre diriginte şi părinţi şi chiar lipsa unui dialog constructiv dintre diriginte şi elev. Părinţii nu sunt interesaţi de persoanele pe care copilul le consideră prieteni şi care, de foarte multe ori, sunt o primă cauză a absenţei de la şcoală. 4. Se impune organizarea de ore de dirigenţie cu subiecte educative bine organizate şi desfăşurate. 5. Multor elevi nu le place şcoala, nu ştiu ce vor pentru viitorul lor şi absentează.

  6. 6. Students should be punishment for their absences without leave. 7. Teachers should find ways to make their lessons much more attractive and clearly demonstrate the usefulness of their classes in the students’ future life. 8. Lowering the limit of absences without leave for those students who are entitled to some financial rights such as grants or „high school money”. 9. Decreasing students’ conduct grades. 10. Raising students’ awareness that school is important for their future and, regardless of their financial or family difficulties, they have to continue their studies. 6. Pentru absenţe nemotivate, elevii ar trebuie sancţionaţi. 7. Găsirea de către cadrele didactice a unor metode de a face lecţiile atractive şi să demonstreze că aceste lecţii le sunt utile în viaţă. 8. Reducerea numărului de absenţe nemotivate pentru acordarea dreptului de a lua „bani de liceu” sau bursă. 9. Scăderea notei la purtare. 10. Conştientizarea în rândul elevilor a faptului că şcoala este importantă pentru viitorul lor şi că, indiferent de problemele financiare sau din familie, trebuie să-şi continue studiile.
