  3. Advocacy is • “the expression of support for or opposition against a cause, argument or proposal”. • Advocacy may include influencing laws, legislation or attitudes

  4. ZI LAA Biennium Goals 2012-2014 • Work together on strategic issues to advance SOW • Be a leading advocate on Status of women’s issues • Enable members, clubs, districts to become more effective advocates • Increase visibility of actions to end VAW

  5. Phase 1: clubs and districts share actions • Phase 2: one global action in Nov 2013

  6. ZC Austin placed a yellow flag at the site to bring awareness of violence against women to the community.

  7. 16 Days of Activism ZC Toowoomba Area Inc 16 life-size ‘cut outs’ Spread across the city of Toowoomba ‘Toowoomba says No to Violence’ ‘Act against Abuse’ Working together to End violence against women’ STOP VIOLENCE

  8. ZC of Pierre kicked off the 16 Days of Activism with the help of the local volunteer fire department
